1. It is free to play!
You can try it without having to buy!
Note: If you want to play the xpacs you will have to buy them.

2. It doesn't have a huge gear grind.
Exotic gear works for most content.
You will need to get ascended gear with agony resistance to do high-tier fractals. However, ascended gear can be crafted & agony resist can be bought off of the trading post.
Legendary armor has the same stats as Ascended armor. The main difference is that Legendary armor can be stat swapped at any time, and you can use legendary armor on multiple characters.
3. Level cap doesn't change.
The level cap has been 80 since vanilla and has never changed.
4. You get to choose what you want to do.
You will have to do the story for certain things, like mounts, or to get to living world maps. For the most part, though, you decide what you want to do and there are a lot of options!

5. Guild Wars 2 is good for people who like playing alts.
Because the level cap stays the same & there isn't a huge gear grind, it is easy to level alts.
You also get tomes of knowledge from wvw, pvp, and sometimes from the daily reward. Tomes of Knowledge give you levels or spirit shards.
Xp boosts are great for leveling.
Crafting professions level you.
And of course, questing levels you!
6. The Combat System.
The combat is dynamic and feels active and engaging. You can move while casting most spells, and dodge roll is a huge part of your kit.
There are a lot of reasons to move around in gw2. It adds to the feeling of being engaged in the game!
No mana, the skills have a cooldown and once they off cd you can use them!
7. The Living World Story
There is the living world story and your personal story. The beginning levels of your personal story differ and are based on your choices during character creation. The living world story is the story of guild wars 2, each expansion has this story. It is the how and why guild wars 2 is the way it is.
The living world story missions can be completed by yourself or with a group & there are achievements in the mission!
8. The community is really nice.
The community is nice and helpful. Of course, there are some trolls still but the majority of the player base is nice!
The game is designed to work together which adds to the overall atmosphere.
Fishing has added to this. Something about it brings a lot of joy and ease to the players. People are choosing to talk to strangers more because of it!
9. Fashion
Since Guild Wars 2 does not have a huge gear grind people put a lot of work into their armor!
There are a ton of different things you can do with the armor including dye it!
There are a ton of dyes, and with so much variety you can truly make your character your own!
10. Casual
A lot of the content is pretty casual, which makes it easy to play the game when you want to. And there is no sub fee!
11. Bonus: It's beautiful.
I've played since beta and I never get tired of looking at gw2 beauty. They did a fantastic job creating a breathtaking game.
Even the areas that are eerie, gross, dark, etc... have beautiful things in them.
