Dawnstar spire, that is where Dar'Khan schemed for so long. The building itself was surprisingly tidy, unlike the rest of the buildings in the Ghostlands. Like someone was taking care of it. Many Reavers guarded it. Junelight and I had to fight them off to find any clues.
Junelight and I found a dusty journal but didn't take a lot of time to read it. Despite us killing the Reavers, we felt like we were being watched.
Junelight was looking everywhere, listening intently, the hair on her back was raised. I hadn't seen her so upset before and that was all I needed to know to get us out of there. We would have to look at the journal in the safety of Farstrider Enclave instead. I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched the whole way back and neither could Junelight.
Even inside the Enclave, we felt uneasy. What is out there? Was it Dar'Khan himself?
Ranger Vynna seemed to feel it too, as she told us to quickly get the information to Magister Kaendris.
We went there as quickly as we could. The dread and unease built so much that I felt sick to my stomach. With the journal in Magister Kaendris hands, some of the dread started to fade. It felt like the thing that was watching us, was now watching him instead.
He quickly found the answers he was looking for. There were two artifacts that Dar'Khan had promised to the scourge. The stone of light and the stone of flame. They were supposed to ward off the undead so I do not know why the scourge would want them, but they did. Maybe they planned to corrupt them? And use them for their own means. They have the power of the Sunwell in them, so who knows what else they could be used for. Only time would tell.
The most important thing right now was to find them and bring them back. They were exactly where the journal said they would be. It seemed like they were preparing to do a ritual with them, but I do not know for sure. Either way, we stopped them from their plans.
We had our orders, kill Dar'Khan, and his lieutenants, save the prisoners and eradicate as many of the scourge as possible.
My heart felt like it would pound out of my chest. The time had finally come, I had waited, impatiently for this moment. And now that it was here, and I was scared. There were so many more parts to this mission than I expected. I wouldn't be able to sneak in and assassinate the trader this time. It was a full-out assault on his base and I doubt he would go quietly.
The stench inside Deatholme was awful. Pools of plague bubbled and each time they popped more of that wretched stench filled the air. It was hard to breathe or see through its haze. Despite that, we found him before his lieutenants and the captives. He stood there with that sickening smile. I could see the twisted hatred that filled his mind as he saw me. No words were spoken. Junelight and I pounced on him immediately and killed him quickly. The army we slew to get to him put up more of a fight than he did.
We slew many mindless undead that day, and almost died in the process, but we completed all of our quests. The walk back was long, our bodies ached, we had many minor wounds, and we were tired, but we weren't done yet.
We had to make our way to Silvermoon to tell Lor'themar Theron. After his congratulations. we found the nearest in and deep sleep. We only woke up because...
